Computer Stuff
Stuff on the computer, yo.
so the big massive update.
Feb 1st
So yeah, i promised myself i would write this entry for the past two weeks now, but i keep forgetting to do so over the amount of work i have piled up on me. I haven’t written in this since december of last year, so i have some shit to talk about…
Well, for one, I am currently working on multiple websites. Six, to be exact, and that number is to grow by two or three soon. I’m hoping that I can improve my skills with CSS and conclusively working on design at the same time may help my portfolio, and the planned launch of my own personal site come next month. I’ve been trying to play around with other colors in my scheme, as i’ve found that i’m wayyy too fond of black background sites. The Team Mayhem site, coincidentally, will still be all black, baby. The Joomla 1.5 code finally got out of beta and release canidate status, so it’s all good, baby. I don’t know why i keep saying baby, BUT I AM.
I now have a TV in my room, which i have my PS3, DC, and Wii hooked up to, but it distracts me, so i had to leave the PS3 out over at my friend’s house so i wouldn’t be tempted to play it. My bouts of playing Pain as well as Super Puzzle Fighter 2 HD Remix (i blame soap committee for that. crazy white girl…) have slowly turned into addictions i had to get away from if i can actually try and get some work done around here.
I’ve also attempted to keep a microsoft free working enviroment- working on mac already is a no brainer, but i’ve been keeping up on the open source community. no MSN messanger, no word, nothing of the sort. i’ll probably write a bit more on that later.
oh, and new icon. its an old picture my friend primo did. i’m still as fugly as ever.
Bean.
Dec 4th
I’ve been using a program for word processing for a while now, by the name of Bean. Bean is basically a lightweight word processor. But every time i use it, i think of , the artist behind Parallel Dementia.
my mind makes these connections and doesn’t stop :S

Well, I finally got down to it, and the Cornstalker website was released thirty minutes before it was officially supposed to. Everything’s gone off without a hitch, save for two bugs that were discovered after the launch – looks like there’s some CSS positioning troubles in Safari and maybe a preloading script issue (even though there is a preloading script in place, it’s not working properly, because there’s been a suggestion to put one IN). The blog is working fine, so I can finally put that Cornstalker project to rest and move on to new ones.
Website design related, my next big site will be my own portfolio site. Each Team Mayhem member has their own subdomain for a portfolio-Primo already has his, and that’s working out just fine. I’m the next one due, as i need something to put my own personal shit on. It’ll act as my own mini hub connecting all of my accounts all over the place (deviantArt, this LJ, twitter, etc.) as well as to post my site design, and finally, a list of webcomics cameos i’ve had. I’ve been meaning to post all this time. All my cameos from the first Darken cameo to the Reckless Youth one (I’ve been fond of that one, i dunno why) to my Legostar Galactica appearance (as a 70′s lego, which again, was pure awesome).
Roofing on my house starts tomorrow. Before I go to bed tonight, I’ll be moving my computer out of my room and into my living room ,as my part of the house… well, won’t have a roof at all, by the looks of it. My part of the house was added on later on, and as such, has no insulation… and a thin roof. This part of the roof will probably be torn off, and I’ll be out of a room and perhaps a computer for a while, unless i plug it in my living room, which actually sounds like a good idea to me.
As for the blog title… well, it just came to me off the top of my head. Don’t mind me.
Updated, at last…
Sep 29th
So I haven’t really posted on here. I can’t really explain why, as i’ve probably had plenty of times the last couple of weeks to do so, but i didn’t. Perhaps it was just my state of mind, being worried about one thing or another, but now, my schedule has cleaned up- i had a rash of tests the past week, and a couple more coming up this week that for once, i feel prepared for. New things have happened, actually…
My friend Primo and I (along with two other friends) went on a photography excursion into downtown LA. We traveled out into the area of Fairfax/Hollywood, checking out the graffitti in the area. Most of it was done by the extremely talented CBS crew (google image the words “CBS Graffiti” to check out their work.), and it just had me thinking. Talking to Primo about it, there was an appreciation for this type of art in the neighborhood, something i had originally considered to be a nuisance. Now, I just sat in awe at some of this work, some of it so wonderfully blended, a mix of colors that made a blank wall just… so amazing.
But anyways, back on subject. We were walking down an alley to find a photoshoot. Primo, being the usual loudmouth, started talking to the people on the photoshoot. “What are you guys shooting for?” He asked, pushing his chest out to show that damn camera that he won’t let me touch (too expensive).
“deviantArt, an art website.” One of the people near some boxes said. I basically froze, and Primo grinned. We both have dA accounts (Primo’s and my own). We started talking freely to some of the people there, admitting that we both had accounts. One of the ladies there introduced herself as Heidi, and asked for our accounts. We both wrote it down for her, and gave it to her. Day later, we both are now subscribed to deviantArt’s pro accounts for four months. Pushed me enough to get new crap on my page. It’s sweet. Thanks again, dA people!
On some other fronts, I’m finally shopping for a video camera of my own. I’ve always had to borrow a camera of my own, and it proved to be a bother for a while. Finally, I decided a while ago I’ll probably be getting one of my own, at least a very good one with 24p support. Doing my research, I think i might even just go completely HD on that side, go 1080p. Any further than that, and I’ll probably won’t be able to edit anything (2k/4k range is probably not even possible with a pro-sumer camera). So, probably a Canon HD camera. Going to do more research on that.
Websites… I’m going to make a somewhat intersesting announcements on my future website plans. Not just yet, as i have to get some of the sites fixed up soon. I’ll make the announcements once the time comes for them.
The move…
Aug 1st
Well, i’ve always been a fan of both Macs and PCs. I used Macs constantly at school, while running PCs at home. (I actually remember my first PC- it was 75mhz, with a whopping 2 gigs of space. Man, what a joke that is today). Finally, i have a computer of my own, and its a mac. And somehow, I have to get used to it all. As mush as i am used to fixing both macs and PCs, this finally turns out to be a learning curve for me. Figuring out the littlest things like how Finder organizes your files (Goddammit i want the folders on top, then everything else organized by kind! that’s how my PC did it!) and moving files back and forth between them (almost all of them work- i got rid of my wmv files anyways, they were no use. I can play them back, thankfully, without the horrible Windows Media Player for the Mac. (an oxymoron within itself.)
So i can finally say that I’m basically situated on my new mac, save for a couple of files lying around here and there on my PC I have to fetch. No scanner or printer, which i actually started to miss, oddly enough. I’ll have to have the PC network to my mac to let me print shit while the rest of the family is on the PC.
Went to the beach last weekend with plenty of friends. God, I actually remembered why i don’t like seeing myself without a shirt on. People run screaming in pure pain and torture. Hell, i figure i should talk to Homeland Security to use my bare chest as a interrogation weapon. One flash and a terrorist would be willing to commit suicide to spare himself from the pain he just endured.
These next two weeks I have planned out- writing, website design, and webcomic reviews. All the things I’ve been needing on doing, I shall do this upcoming week. Hopefully everything will go along smoothly.
Oddly enough, I just realized something. I have a copy of Fearless, unwatched.
Guess I know what my mac is doing now.
Still around, you know.
Jul 26th
Allright, so i haven’t been very good at updating this thing. I’ve been… rather busy. Really. I’ve been around, doing work and whatnot, but i’ve simply forgotten to check up on my LJ, among other things online.
So what’s new?

Well, this is new. I’m now officially switched to Macs! it was a really odd process to go through, but almost everything has been sorted out. I need to clean up and maintain some sense to what goes on this psuedo desk of mine, so yeah.
I will be returning to my projects relatively soon. Expect announcements to new projects, cancellations of old ones, and dates for releases (Webcomics Report, especially. That site is long overdue.)
updates. oh joy.
Feb 7th
Sarcasm is with me. Everyone, rejoice!
So yes, updates for everything I’m working by, ordered by project!
Cornstalker
Working currently on a new blog system that i found, called PHPBB Blog. the name is exactly what it means- it takes a forum, and displays it in a bloglike system (any posts after the initial first post are comments). The final version was released, with a bug or two. i’m working on making the output a bit more purdy than usual and getting it just right (small bugs here and there, which i can hopefully fix). I’m also working on a rough version of the site entirely in CSS, by scratch, which im extremely and utterly proud of. really, i am.
Cornstalker Radio
Those who know about it, can know im writing a song or two and the scripts. Spring, hopefully? I gotta talk to the artists involved, and get my own shit together.
Team Mayhem.net
I scrapped the site. completely and utterly. i was using a template, which left a lot for me to desire. i’d rather build it by scratch, so i can be proud of the design and work away at making something completely and utterly cool. I’m still going by ‘s early mockup, but with a little twist to it. Joomla has helped every step of the way to make this perfect for its content. And yes, we’re getting new videos and such to throw on there. and OOH, new music from the awesomely cool Think Alike. There’s a music video planned for one of their songs, as well.
Webcomics Report
After a bit of a mixup, im back at work on the webcomics report, trying to get the site on something of a working status. Yes, its another site designed entirely in Joomla, but this time around, it’s going to be a little different from the usual Joomla shit i do, so bringing those features to work seamlessly with one another has been something of a struggle for me. Plus, i have all of my reviews written down by hand. I need to type them up and edit them. ETA… March, maybe? I hope so. I want to have something of a jump start before applying to my expos again as press.
Unnamed Comic
Yes, this is the comic I’m serving as producer and assistant writer to. The artist and writer of Blue Eyed Devil is working on this one, but it’s had some setbacks, as one of the main stars have dropped out, so we’re looking for new comics. If you couldn’t tell, yes, this is a webcomic, and to where we’re hosting it on is still a mystery to us. I’m looking to all of our choices to where we can host it, so as soon as we have a good buffer, we’re launching SOMEWHERE. Yes, SOMEWHERE. I wish i could tell more, but all i can say is that it’s going to be fun, action wise. first big action sequence takes place in an elevator. with a sawed off shotgun. joy for violence.
Blue Eyed Devil
Yes, this comic is going to make a quick return. Gonna pick it up once we get the chance.
Zombie
The project has been greenlight by all of the other Team Mayhem Productions members. I’m writing the pilot and the second epsiodes, in mind for a 15 episode run. So yes, expect me to start blabbing on and on about working with zombies. I pray we can get sneek peeks and trailers done in spring.
oooh, dual screen…
Jul 11th
I forgot my sister had an extra monitor (her computer fell apart…) soo…

MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
so fun. It helps too. I usually keep chat windows on the right, main work on the left. Or as you can see here, GTA: San Andreas on the right, secret projects on the left.
I love dual screens.
